My story
I learned marketing by doing the work.
My path into marketing wasn't exactly traditional. Back in 2010, I wrote a children's book. Once it was published, I realized I didn't want to just wait around for book signings my publisher scheduled. I started building my own events and workshops and figuring out social media and PR on the fly, mostly by trial and error.
In 2017, I co-founded a nonprofit, and marketing became one of the many hats I wore. I was raising funds, running social media, planning events, handling PR, and doing whatever needed to get done. That work led me into agency life, where I spent years at large national agencies focused heavily on webinars and paid ad campaigns.
Eventually, I branched out on my own and started Kristen Lucas Creative Agency. I wanted to work directly with small and mid-sized businesses that needed the same level of strategy the big agencies offer, without losing the personal attention.
Today, I bring over 10 years of marketing experience to every client. I've managed millions of dollars in ad spend, and I know what it takes to make a marketing dollar actually work.
